LAPT - Latin American Poker Tour

The Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT) was first started in May 2008 in Brazil, and within short time it promises to become one of the world's leading poker tours. After Asia Pacific Poker Tour, it was LAPT's birth and has brought the poker to the Latin American lovers. This region was parched until LAPT arrived.

Sponsors like PokerStars' hold large number of online qualifying satellites, with help of which thousands of poker players travel every year to compete in live events across Europe, the US, Asia Pacific and the Caribbean. Using their Frequent Player Points, some don't even pay to enter - but have returned home with enormous wins in their pockets.

LAPT has also helped the tourism industry in this region and world famous Caribbean Islands are now visited more often. With the launch of the LAPT, PokerStars is again bringing a whole new dimension to poker and helping turn it into a truly global sport.
